About AiDA
AiDA is an AI Assistant developed by the Observatory on Information and Democracy that synthesises evidence from the academic state-of-the-art based on the Observatory's 2025 report.
AiDA uses a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach to provide accurate, context-specific answers. Retrieval is conducted using a hybrid approach combining BM25 and vector search. Generation is powered by Llama 3-8b through Groq's API.
AiDA specializes in three key domains:
- News media and information disorders
- AI impact on information ecosystems
- Data governance and platform regulation

Thank you to Reporters without Borders (RSF) and the Spinoza Project for access to prompting resources and coding guidelines. The project also benefited from the advice of Vincent Berthier, and Ruggero Marino Lazzaroni.
